This sansho powder is made using only high-quality grape sansho pepper produced in Kishu, Wakayama.

The oil-containing seeds that ruin the flavor of the budo sansho are carefully removed by hand.
The peels are ground in a stone mill before shipping to preserve the rich flavor of the budo sansho.

It takes time, but by grinding slowly with the skins of the Japanese peppercorns placed between the holes in the stone mill, we prevent the pepper from coming into contact with air and thus prevent the fresh aroma from escaping.
Unlike mechanical milling, grinding slowly with a millstone means there is no risk of the flour burning due to exposure to heat.

The stone-ground sansho powder can be used immediately, allowing you to enjoy the mellow flavor of grape sansho as is.
With its spicy, refreshing aroma and strong spiciness, Sansho is a spice that gives dishes an exceptionally delicious flavor.
Just sprinkle some Japanese pepper on your usual dish and it will instantly take on a completely different flavor.
